We leave YVR on Sept 13. We leave JRO on Sept 29th. Meet Up does not allow 2+ weeks of events.

I Hosted this event August 2022. Due to numerous requests, I've tailored a 2nd trip to enjoy adventures in Africa, with maximum safety, while successfully reaching BOTH the tallest peak in Africa AND the tallest freestanding mountain in the world!!

We will arrive and immediately enjoy a 3-day safari to climatize and then a 7-day trip to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro via the Rongai route. Tastic Safaris' rents everything from poles, backpacks, sleeping bags, footwear, etc for a reasonable price to avoid extra luggage. Your tent comes with the event. People also have the option of staying longer to visit Zanzibar; extra cost. Once in Tanzania, I become just another hiker in the group, as the tour guide and porters take over.

**DEPOSIT & PAYMENT:**
The company (https://tasticsafaris.com) requires a $300 USD deposit to secure your spot. I have already paid mine. The balance can be paid 1-2 weeks prior to departure date; so you have tons of time to save up. If the trip is cancelled due to alien invasion, Covid issues, dragons, etc they will refund your deposit. There will be no refund once two weeks before departure.

**SUMMARY:**
I will post a pic of my flight details and seat choices so others can join me. Flights MUST arrive no later than Sunday Sept 15th. The tour company picks us up and takes us to the hotel. We will receive a pre-trip debriefing. I will list the top choices in both Arusha (Safari) and Moshi (Kilimanjaro). You can rent a single bed or reduce the price by sharing a double bed room.

As stated above, we will be following the Rongai route up the North side, right by the border to Kenya. We will then descend the South side via the Marangu route. We will see allot!! We will have plenty of time for acclimatization to the altitude, hence the high success rate, and take in the best scenery of the mountain and Africa.

Once the hike is completed, we stay at a hotel we choose until our flight depart to either Zanzibar and/or home.

**RANDOM ANSWERS:**
If you don't have gear, tour company rents everything you need; which saves on bulky luggage and porter's carry it. Extra luggage can be stored at the hotel for a fee.

Some people struggle with altitude sickness; you won't know if susceptible until there. Fortunately, I will post hikes on every Saturday as training to reduce risks. This is also why we are doing the Rongai route over 7 days. Each tour operator brings oxygen supplies and medical personnel to ensure everyone's physical and mental state each morning.
