Itβs Baja Time!
A San Diego Van Life Event in Baja California π
JUST TO BE CLEAR! This is not a 2-day event. This event is for 3 to 4 months but can be as long as you want. Meet us down there or come back early. Everything is good.
I am going to change the meetup place at the start of the event so we all go through the border at the same time.
Hi everyone! I thought I would share my Baja experience with a fun group so here it is. My name is Christian and I have lived in Baja up and down the east coast for months at a time as well as led groups of people on cool trips to visit many great places along that route.
One of the main things I want to emphasize about this trip is, it will be a float in and out of trip, meaning, if there is something you want to do, do it. I will make sure everyone knows where the group will be at all times so go do your stuff and join back when you are ready....or not! This trip is all about you, If you want to go for only a month, feel free to head back up whenever you want but there will always be a core group to join back up with if you want to.
I know large rv parks where we can stay as a group as well as large, isolated, and nomadic beaches where we can stay till our hearts are content. This really is a dream trip.
Why I say the east coast of Baja - The sea of Cortez (gulf of California) side is for less waves and more kite boarding, kayaking, and empty beautiful beaches. The west side or pacific side is more for surfing although we will check out a few places over there as well. There is a great bar right on the pacific side right on the beach with van camping RIGHT on the beach. Surf, land at the bar, and then walk to your rig.
I have a Starlink which I will be sharing with everyone. Starlink is a game changer for traveling in other countries. Benefits include texting and calling anytime, never having to use a Mexican phone plan, navigation maps anytime, getting movies to watch on my projector while on the beach, etc. EVEN if we are in the middle of nowhere without cell signal, starlink works like you are at home (with even better speeds sometimes). I have been in very remote places, and it has worked EVERY time.
I have a sound system on my back porch of my rig which will be used for the sound for movie nights, and dance parties if we choose.
I will introduce the group to the RV park in la paz which has Laundry, showers, and a really nice vibe till we move on to another beach or town. This RV park will be our "base camp" to a lot of the fun places in southern Baja. The people that work there speak english and are super friendly.
I will keep updating this with more information as time gets closer!
Welcome and message me with any questions.
