What we’re about
Welcome to the MN Animal Rights/Vegan Meetup (previously named ‘Minneapolis Vegan Meetup’) sponsored by the Animal Rights Coalition (ARC)!
ARC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to end the suffering, abuse, and exploitation of non-human animals through information, education, and advocacy. This group was created to bring together the Minneapolis plant-based community and the animal rights community. We engage in both advocacy and social events to educate others about animal rights and veganism. Join us to advocate for animals at a peaceful protest, community outreach, leafleting, or Cuddle Coats Prep Session. Stop by our monthly volunteer meeting & potluck, dine outs, pop-ups or movie screenings to meet other vegans and like-minded people. All are welcome to attend ARC events! You do not need to be vegan or vegetarian or have previous experience advocating for animals. We hope to see you at an event soon!

Join the Animal Rights Coalition at Augsburg University to engage students in meaningful conversations about animal rights and the benefits of adopting a vegan lifestyle!
We'll be tabling in the Christensen Center with pay-per-view virtual reality headsets that give students a first-hand look into the harsh realities of factory farming. Participants can watch from the perspective of a chicken, pig, or cow to see how animals raised for food endure suffering before ending up in grocery store packages. For each student who watches, we’ll offer $3 and have a follow-up conversation to discuss what they’ve seen.
Volunteers are needed to, distribute informative literature, set up and assist with the VR headsets, and talk with students about animal rights, veganism, and their own experience.

Curious about eating plant-based, but think it’s too expensive? Or maybe you’re already vegan, but spending way too much money on food.
Join Kelsey, who is certified in Plant-Based Nutrition from T. Colin Campbell's Center for Nutrition Studies, to squash the myth that the vegan lifestyle is hard on your wallet. We’ll discuss why vegan food is expensive, what foods to shop for, where and how to find them, tips for meal planning, and provide tons of resources. Come with questions and be prepared to take notes.
All are welcome! You do not need to be vegan to attend ARC events.

Join Vegan University instructor Dave, who is certified in Plant Based Nutrition from Cornell University, and learn Vegan Nutrition 101. New material has been added on how to keep your immune system strong in a time where COVID - 19 is mostly striking down people with chronic diseases/compromised immune systems. Please bring your questions, a writing utensil and paper so you can take notes.
Scientific studies have also shown that strict vegan diets can prevent and often reverse heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, various auto-immune disorders and cancer. Dave will help you sort through the confusing and often conflicting nutrition advice in the media so you make better diet choices as you move forward on your plant-based journey.
All are welcome! You do not need to be vegan or vegetarian to attend ARC events.

Join Nick, one of the Animal Rights Coalition Dine Out hosts, for brunch at Reverie! This is a great opportunity to meet like-minded folks and have a delicious meal while supporting restaurants with awesome vegan options.
Everyone is welcome! You do not need to be vegan to attend. Everything at Reverie is vegan.
Check out their menu - they have a lot of really good options!
Menus | reverieParking: There is plenty of parking along the neighborhood streets.
RSVP Agreement: Please make sure to keep your RSVP up to date! These dine outs often fill up fast with people added to the wait list. Please be fair to them so that they have a chance to see if they are able to attend. This is also important so that we can give restaurants an accurate number as they are often busy and holding spots for us which could have gone to other customers. Giving accurate counts helps us remain in good faith and continue to be able to hold dine outs at many different restaurants. I will send a reminder to everyone 3 days before the dine out. Canceling within 24 hours of the dine out time or not showing up will both count as a strike (unless you were on the wait list and were added because someone dropped out within 24 hours). If you get 3 strikes you won't be able to attend future dine outs.
