What we’re about
This is a group for anyone interested in meeting up with some like-minded people for (non-serious) cycling. On-road, off-road or anywhere else with some (serious) café stops thrown in. Any distance in the Edinburgh area - Lothians and Borders, Fife and beyond. Beyond could mean weekend trips to the Highlands or Yorkshire or even Mallorca.
Most rides will be on road and around the 40 to 50 mile mark, but that will depend entirely upon the organiser who sets up the ride. 25 miles or up to 100 miles plus is good too. There are also the occasional cycle path and/or gravel cycle.
There is a joining fee of £5, due when you join. After that there is an annual £5 subscription, due in February of each year. These are to cover the Meetup fees. In fairness to those who have paid, non payers will be removed from the group.
Please put up a recent photograph of yourself which clearly shows your face, so others can recognise you on rides. If you don’t put up a photo, you will not be allowed to join the group.
VeLothian is what we all make of it. Anyone is welcome to put up a ride. All you need is a bike, and to know where you are going. If you are interested in organising a ride, please get in touch with me or any of the ride organisers. We will be very happy to show you the ropes!
