What: Initial Setup of Wreath Stands and American Flags next to all Veteran Headstones

Where: Meet in Garden of Trees section in the northeast section of the cemetery, for those who attended before this is our normal starting point.

We do have one new section this year, Monument Garden. Let's meet at Garden of Trees as we have done in the past, from there, we'll send teams out to different areas to divide and conquer.

What to bring:

• Bring a broom or soft scraper to clear dirt and leaves from headstones
• Mallet to place flags.

How long: If we have a decent amount of people show up (20ish) we should be able to power through this in about 2 hours. People who have shown up late in the past have had very little to help with. Be on time or even a little early if you want to get involved and help out.

What: Distribution of Wreaths throughout property

Where: Meet at the main / central building towards back of cemetery.

What to bring:

• Work gloves (optional)
• Work Truck - If you have a truck, please bring it. You can run one of the crews deploying the boxes of wreaths out.

How long: This in the past has taken about half a day (4 hours), mainly because we've had very little help. When RSVP'ing, please provide a good cell # on your RSVP and a good email. We'll send comms out through here but also via email and text once we find out when exactly the wreaths will arrive.

We would love to have some more involvement from VIB on this day specifically. This day has the biggest workload and the lightest participation.

Meeting flow:

11:30 - Arrive early to order food and get settled in
11:45 - Meeting Begins
Member introductions (30 second elevator pitch)
5 minute member spotlight
15 Minute Guest Spot
Thank-yous and announcements
12:50 - 1:00 - Meeting Adjourns / Dismissal

Followed by: One on one networking opportunities at your own convenience / networking in the area. Restaurant closes at 2 pm so you have to be out of there by then.

What: Ceremony and Individual Wreath Placement

Where: Meet at the central area of the cemetery for the ceremony then head out and help get all the wreaths individually placed on the stands throughout the cemetery.

What to bring:

• Yourself, your family, loved ones
• A good attitude.

How long: From start to finish, 60 to 90 minutes depending on how many wreaths you want to place. This is the busiest day being the ceremony. Plan on walking a lot and having to park a ways a way.

This is the day we officially honor those who have passed on who served our great nation. When we leave Sparkman Hillcrest this day, it will look amazing.
