Bio: Dan O'Day is a Consulting Director with Unit 42 by Palo Alto Networks, specializing in digital forensics and incident response (DFIR). If that sounds confusing, you can think of Dan as a cyber firefighter and digital arson investigator. When Dan isn't uncovering the truth from a sea of 1s and 0s, he can be found with his head buried in a good book, sipping on a mug of coffee, tea, or an occasional beer. In addition to spending about the last decade in consulting, Dan's background includes being a CSI digital forensic examiner in federal law enforcement (right here in NWI), an adjunct college professor at Purdue Northwest, and he is a veteran of the Indiana Army National Guard.

Unit 42 recently published its 2025 Incident Response Report, and Dan does much of the data science work underlying the statistics used in this report. Dan will share some of the key findings from the report in regards to the speed, scale, and complexity of disruptive cyber attacks facing organizations today, as well as sharing a few of Palo Alto Networks' predictions for 2025 (and beyond).
