Vintage Showdown: The Taste of Time

Join us for an intimate evening of wine tasting that delves into the art of comparing the same wines from different vintages! This unique experience will focus on understanding how vintage differences and aging impact flavor and aroma, with an exciting twist: it will be a blind tasting. Attendees won’t know the wines or their vintages and will play a fun guessing game to identify them and discuss their observations.

This is a warm and friendly gathering primarily for gay men, but allies are more than welcome! We aren’t wine experts or sommeliers—just a group of wine enthusiasts who love to explore and learn more about what’s in our glass. I’ll be hosting this event in my cozy apartment. Although I’m not a professional sommelier, I do have a degree in winemaking and have tasted over 1200 wines, so I’ll be sharing what I know to make the experience engaging and educational.

What to Expect:

• A welcoming, relaxed environment in my small home setting. My friendly dog will be present, so please be mindful if you have any allergies or are uncomfortable around dogs.
• A blind tasting format that will include a fun game where we guess the wines and their vintages.
• An attendee limit of 5, plus me and two others, making a maximum of 8 people.
• I’ll provide wines, snacks, background information, and detailed tasting sheets to guide your experience.
• Shared costs for the evening are €25 per person (cash, Revolut, bank transfer).

Wines & Pairings: Depending on the number of attendees:

• 4 people: 6 bottles (3 pairs)
• 5–6 people: 8 bottles (4 pairs)
• 7–8 people: 10 bottles (5 pairs)

• Please note that the event will be held in English.
• Please RSVP only if you’re certain you can attend. The limited number of spots and the curated nature of the event mean that I prepare the wines and tasting sheets based on the final participant list.
• This is my first event of this kind, so it will be an experimental run. Your patience, support, and feedback will be greatly appreciated!
