What we’re about
Acting up! is a fun, interactive social skills group for kids ages 8-10 who are neurodivergent or simply working on building confidence in social settings. Led by Licensed Professional Counselor Laura Samalya, this group focuses on creating a safe, welcoming space where everyone feels they belong. Through improvisation games and role play, kids will practice communication skills, learn to navigate social situations and build connections--all while having a great time together.
Our approach is rooted in the evidence based techniques of Dr. Matthew Lerner. We take a relational approach, building trust and rapport among group members and staff. In this environment, kids are gently encouraged to connect and collaborate with each other, with guidance and support when they need it. We believe in celebrating differences and fostering tolerance, helping each child discover and embrace their unique voice. At Acting Up!, social learning is all about laughter, connection, and growing together!
