What we’re about
Hi I'm Will from the Local Gateways Team at Volunteer Edinburgh. I'd love to get your views on what volunteering is like in the city. Volunteering is at the heart of life in Edinburgh and I want to know how to make it better for you.
I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on these topics, or any other topics you wish to speak about;
Are you interested in volunteering in Edinburgh? Have you volunteered in Edinburgh before? Have any good, or bad, experiences changed your view on volunteering? Has anything in particular stopped you from volunteering in the past? What would help you to volunteer in the future? If you could create the dream volunteer role, what would it be and why? What is your motivation for volunteering?
Ultimately I would like to enhance your overall volunteering experience in this city. This could be through offering support, or providing new volunteering opportunities, or creating a space for your voices to be heard.
All ideas and contributions are welcome, this is a safe space where all opinions and thoughts are respected and accepted!

About the Fair
This year the fair will be held on 1 October 2024 from 10:00 until 17:30 at St Paul's and St George's Church on York Place.
Scotland’s largest Volunteer Recruitment Fair is delivered annually by Volunteer Edinburgh, helping hundreds of people in their search for opportunities.
Designed for organisations and anyone interested in volunteering, our fair showcases the wide range of ways that people can get involved in volunteering with organisations big and small, local and national, who serve a diverse range of communities and causes all coming together with the common aim to attract new volunteers.
Volunteering helps people truly participate in their communities, build new skills, get a taste of different working environments, create new friendships and boost individual confidence and wellbeing. Or simply just feel good that they have done something that made a difference.
When visitors need to sit down after taking in all of this new information there is a friendly café provided by Space serving delicious food and drink. Visit them online here.If you’re considering volunteering, this is a fantastic opportunity to meet face to face with dozens of organisations from across Edinburgh that you can speak to directly and who are currently looking for volunteers or talk to experienced volunteer advisors on hand to help you to search hundreds of volunteering opportunities throughout the city, all under one roof. Read some of the reviews we have received from visitors and stallholders over the years.
Entry is free to the public (bookings for stallholders are charged and we have a number of payment options available), and more than a thousand potential volunteers are expected to visit and experience the diverse range of ways they can become involved.
Our last fair helped hundreds of people in their search for volunteering opportunities, connecting them with the organisations that needed their help. Make sure you’re one of them this year.
