What we’re about
Come play a VR game in development and be a part of shaping its evolution. Game makers need feedback from players like you! Whether you're new to Virtual Reality or you basically live in the Oasis, your reactions and thoughts are welcome and valued. If you're a VR game dev yourself, ready to share your work with play-testers, join us to schedule a beta night.
Over the past two events I've been planning these double feature events, to show my own game BANJAX, and one other game. In a series of games with interesting and unique approaches to locomotion, we played Eye of the Temple, which allows you to explore a vast ancient temple worthy of Indiana Jones; and then we played Tea for God, in which you explore a gigantic alien complex on another planet. In both cases, you move around the environment, not by using a joystick, but by taking actual steps in your physical space.
Third in our series of games focussed on different modes of locomotion is Spatial Ops. This is a mixed reality game, where you'll portal into a fast-paced battle fending off enemies and uncovering dark secrets. More info here: https://www.meta.com/experiences/spatial-ops/5503065683135424/
As always, BANJAX needs your play testing feedback. The fourth level under construction, takes place in a beautiful crimson rock canyon. Your flying disc can now soak up the fiery energy of the Umlilo Tree to become explosive, giving the player a whole new set of abilities and challenges. Check out this video I made while working on the environment.
7PM Wednesday, December 4th come on out for a VR double feature!
The AudioGraph Beer Company, is a fabulous microbrewery in downtown LA. Formerly called HiDef Brewing, they name many of their beers after audio engineering terms, like Ambient, Fuzzbox or I'm With The Band. They make some wonderful and unique beers--check out their current offerings: www.audiographbeer.com
There's FREE parking at the back of the building (an alley called Margo St) --behind either AudioGraph or their neighbor S.D. Herman Co (closed in the evening). Here's a map link to get you there: https://maps.app.goo.gl/1CmsmhpccNTbToB79
Additional parking is just across the street on 12th St.
AudioGraph does not offer food of its own, but you can bring in whatever you like. They also have a barcode to order delivery from a restaurant just across the street.
Let's play and talk about this brilliant new medium that is Virtual Reality!
Can't wait to see you there!
