Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 23rd November from 3:30pm at The Green Dragon. The pub is a short distance from Cambridge North Railway Station, which has parking and good bus and train connections for those coming from outside Cambridge.

If people would like to see this group continue, please have a think about what you can offer, and whether any of the roles up for grabs is one that you could do. We are dependent on volunteers and it would be nice to to see some younger members step forward and take the reins.

The AGM is also an opportunity to feed back on the running of the group and to review the constitution. Is there anything that we could be doing better? What social networks should we be using? Do we need to put walks on Meetup sooner? What could we do to attract the under 30s? If you have any ideas, please come along to the AGM and tell us!

We will be electing new committee members; the following crucial roles need filling:

**Group Chair**
The Group Chair oversees all of the group's activities, making sure that they are consistent, integrated and in line with our mission and strategy. In real terms for our group, this means occasional discussions with the regional engagement team of the Ramblers, ensuring that other volunteers are doing their job properly and handling the group's email account (although this latter role can be shared with the membership secretary).

**Group Walk Programme Coordinator**
Working with the Walk Leaders, the walks coordinator chooses dates and routes that are varied and suitable for all abilities to make sure they appeal to everyone in the Group. This includes encouraging members of our group to become Walk Leaders, maintaining a list of Walk Leaders and ensuring that the programme is distributed to the group.

**Group Treasurer**
The Group Treasurer makes sure that all of the income and expenditure is properly recorded and in line with the organisation's policies. This involves managing the group's bank account (funded by the Ramblers) and releasing money when required. Currently, our only expense is Meetup, but the Treasurer can also lend funds from our account for a weekend away.

**Membership Secretary**
The Membership Secretary role is responsible for ensuring each member in the group feels warmly welcomed locally, as well as keeping members informed and engaged. Our group tends to share a lot of this work between the Membership Secretary and the Chair, with both having access to the group email account. The Membership Secretary can use the membership information supplied by the Ramblers to keep the contact details up to date for our email account, so that newsletters go to the right people.

Ideally, we would also like to fill the following roles too:

**Group Secretary**
The Group Secretary works with the Group Chair to arrange meetings, including agendas. They should also make sure that accurate minutes are taken and circulated from each meeting.

**Group Social Secretary**
Having fun is also important though so the Group Social Secretary makes sure that there's an interesting social programme of activities alongside the led walks. The Social Secretary should work with other volunteers and members, plan a social events programme that is of interest to the group and publicise all events to make sure that members know about them and are able to join in.

**Group Weekends Away Coordinator**
This is not an official Ramblers role, but one that we have had over the years. The role is similar to the Walks Coordinator but involves supporting volunteers who may wish to lead a weekend away, as well as feeding the plans back to the committee, both for the release of funds for transport and/or accommodation and for the event to be advertised to the group.

Note that for insurance reasons, weekends away are for Ramblers members only. As such, they are restricted to the newsletter and are not posted on Meetup.

**Group Vice Char**
The Group Chair oversees all of the group's activities, making sure that they are consistent, integrated and in line with our mission and strategy. The Vice-Chair carries out specific duties on behalf of the Chair, as required. This can involve deputising for the chair, and supporting the chair in the leadership of the group committee.
