What we’re about
Join me for an introduction to our local National Wildlife Refuge. The TRNWR is unique in that it is an urban wildlife refuge that is open to the public. Come see how the refuge is helping to preserve, restore, and enhance the natural ecosystem of animal and plant life.
Learn about what the refuge can offer you and how you can volunteer to help the sanctuary.
Brief introductions and comments will follow as we stroll through four eco habitats, observing varied flora and fauna. We will also touch on the refuge's history and future.
Expect to traverse a mild, fairly level gravel trail for barely over 2 miles, with an elevation change of 10 feet. The walk takes 1 to 2 hours, depending on the wildlife observed and the identification of native plants and trees.
This walk is open to all but limited to 10 persons per outing.
This is my inaugural offering on Meetup, so your comments and suggestions are desired.
Be aware the Refuge does not allow pets, bicycles, drones, or jogging.
