Short circular walk (4ish miles) to Eastwood Christmas Lights switch on

Details of the light switch on below. We can incorporate this into a short walk (4ish miles) starting from Giltway (at the back of IKEA). If we leave at 6.15, we will be there in time for the switch on at 7pm and can decide if we want to wait for the fireworks at 8pm before heading back to Giltway.

This annual spectacular Christmas event will return to Eastwood at Eastwood Square, along Victoria Street and Nottingham Road this year. Come along and start the festive season with a bang!
The Christmas market will be running from 5.30pm at the Victoria Street and Eastwood Square with an array of tasty treats and festive items to purchase. A range of hot food, sweets and donuts are also in place to pamper your stomach. Check out also the festive face painting and the community stalls on site to complete your journey.

The main event will start at 6pm at Eastwood Square and along Nottingham Road, featuring Victorian Carol Singers, festive street-theatre acts, fairground rides, a nativity trail and carol singing led by the Eastwood Churches Together.
The Christmas light switch on ceremony will take place around the Christmas tree at 7pm on Eastwood Square. Don’t miss the spectacular firework display at 8pm; the best place to view the display is on the Nottingham Road outside the Eastwood Library.
