DOWNTOWN S.F. WALK TO FREE MUSEUMS & GALLERIES

Details

This is the 2nd time we do our new improved version of this lovely walk.

We did it Saturday, Nov. 16th, and there was a big demand for it, but many people were left out because of being stuck on our waiting list or other reasons. The ones able to attend were very happy! So, we do it again!

Also, this is a relatively easy walk, especially now in the rainy season as this walk has some rain protection in 6 museums.

After many months of leading nothing but free sample walks, I started now charging $ again. I used to charge $3 cash per adult, but because of inflation and to make it simple, the new amount is $5 cash. Kids, under 18, will still be free and I will continue to lead some free walks. I collect the $ at the middle of walks.

We will gather at the far East end of the top of the Salesforce Terminal, next to the Beale Street Elevator, at 10:45 AM. The top has a beautiful park.

Attendance Max = 55. One guest is allowed per member if put on the RSVP.

To find me: I am 6 feet tall, wear a big blue & black hat and have a clipboard. One should bring water and a sack lunch.

THE START OF THE WALK: Then at 11:00 AM we will take the elevator down to the sidewalk and then walk to the Rincon Center's History Lobby to look inside at the many paintings and other history displays. Late attendees may find us walking towards the Rincon Center or inside it.

Usually when I start a walk at the Salesforce Terminal Park, we have time for me to explain things in and around there, but on this walk we don't have time for that.

Bring a water bottle and a sack lunch. We will eat lunch a little after 12:30 PM.

We expect to visit 6 free history museums/galleries.

At about 4:30 PM we will officially end at Sansome & Market Street where there is a BART Station. However, I will be walking back to the Salesforce Terminal and everyone there is invited to walk with me.

I advise taking public transportation & not driving to SF because both driving and parking there is usually horrible.

On how to get around the Bay Area on public transportation see below:

Best parking near the Salesforce Terminal that I know of:
Though the validation from the Farmers Market has not returned as it was before COVID giving up to 12 hours parking at Golden Gateway Garage for $3 on weekends. The garage is now open for up to 12 hours parking on weekends for $8.

This walking group is for humans only. No dogs or other animals allowed.

The photo at top was taken at our sack lunch spot, the Levi Plaza.
