**Note**: This walk is intended mainly for people staying at Tauherenikau Racecourse for the weekend, but if there are spaces available you are welcome to come over from Wellington to join the walk.

The walk will start at 10am, but we will leave Tauherenikau to drive to Martinborough at 9.30am.

Thanks to the generous farmer (James Bruce) this walk crosses private farmland to a peak with amazing 360 degree views across Martinborough and southern Wairarapa. Starting from near the farm entrance we will walk uphill to a high point just over 120m. After enjoying the view we return to our starting point via a different route.

We may come across sheep and cattle, as well as a variety of bird life.

This is a short walk and should take no more than 2 hours.

**Bring**: comfortable walking shoes, hat, jacket or warm layer (depending on weather), drink, snacks, lunch money.

Following the walk we’ll head back into Martinborough for lunch at one of the cafes.

If you accept a ride from someone, please offer them a koha.

**Waitlist**: If you RSVP ‘yes’ once the event is full, you will be placed on the waitlist. As spaces become available, people on the waitlist will be ‘bumped up’ automatically according to their order on the waitlist. RSVPs close 2 days before the event. At that point, automatic moves onto the walk cease, so it is up to you to message the Host to request a place if one becomes available. Places will be provided on a ‘first in, first served’ basis. There are 20 places available on this walk.

**No show policy**: If you are listed as 'Going' and do not turn up for this walk, a 'No Show' will be recorded against your name. Three 'No Shows' will result in your Walking Wellington membership being cancelled.

**Cancellation:** If the weather is poor we will send you an email by 7:30am on the day to cancel the walk.
