Note: This walk is predominantly for those on the Wairarapa Weekend trip staying near Featherston.

The start time is the time we will meet in the carpark at the beginning of the walk.

We will walk from Holdsworth Lodge to Atiwhakatu Hut which takes approx 2+ hours. It is a beautiful walk in and a lovely spot to stop for lunch. We will then return exactly the same way, so it is a good 4 hour relatively flat walk.

Getting there and away: To get to Holdsworth Lodge you travel toward Masterton. Just 2km south of the city you turn L) onto Norfolk Rd. There is a timber processing plant on the corner and it is signposted to Holdsworth Lodge. The Lodge is not too much further up the road (12 km approx) and very easy to find. We will aim at being at the Lodge by 10.00 a.m.

What to bring: Good walking shoes/boots are required. Please bring lunch, snacks 1 litre of water, a good raincoat, warm layers, hat and gloves, first aid kit and your sense of humour and adventure.

Cancellation: If the weather is not good I will advise by e-mail no later than 7.00 a.m.
