Name: Wander the Spirit Trail and Mahon Park

**WALK DESCRIPTION:** A mix of urban and forested trails, we start at Lonsdale Quay and walk along the Spirit Trail, making our way to Mahon Park. We will head north through the park and circle back along Larson, and head back towards the Quay. On our way back, we will go through the park and wind our way through the streets of Lower Lonsdale.

**WASHROOMS:** Public washrooms at Lonsdale Quay - beginning and end of walk.

**DIFFICULTY LEVEL:** Easy to difficult. 7.5 KM. Mostly flat but with stairs and elevations throughout Mahon Park. There will be 97 stairs to get up out of Mahon Park. You may want to use poles on some sections of the park.

**DURATION:** 2+ hours

**COMMUNICATION:** **Use "Comments"**

**DONATION:** $1 optional donation to Covenant House.

**ATTENDANCE RULES:** NO GUESTS - sign up as a member to participate. If space is available and with prior permission of the host we will permit out-of-town guests and one-time only in-town guests who want to check us out. The group will only wait 5 minutes for latecomers.

**GEAR UP:**
Sturdy shoes, waterproof if rainy
Walking poles are recommended
Dress for the weather conditions
Water
Small first aid items e.g. bandaids
Bug repellant/sunscreen in season

**DOGS:** Allowed on leash.

**SUPPORT A LOCAL CAFE:** Optional coffee at Lonsdale Quay after the walk.
