**WALK DESCRIPTION**
A simple walk through Lynn Valley reveals a lot about the past. Lynn Valley is blessed with neighbourhoods linked by little mini-trails and pocket-sized forested parks and streams. You'll pass by original homes, heritage buildings and houses from every decade sometimes side-by-side on the same block.

All-the-while you can image the "sacred lands and canyon waters [that] came to be settled by the Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish First Nation people. Thousands of years later they were colonized as Lynn Canyon, North Vancouver, B.C. Although unceded, the first people of the land had no say when in 1871, sapper John Linn, a Royal British Engineer was granted 12 acres (4.9 hectares) of land for $600 at the mouth of the creek."

**DIFFICULTY LEVEL:** Easy. Approx 6 km. A mixture of trails and streets.

**DURATION:** 2+ hours

**DONATION:** $1 optional donation to Covenant House.

**ATTENDANCE RULES:** NO GUESTS - sign up as a member to participate. If space is available and with prior permission of the host we will permit out-of-town guests and one-time only in-town guests who want to check us out. The group will only wait 5 minutes for latecomers.

**GEAR UP:**
Wear sturdy shoes, waterproof if rainy.
Walking poles are recommended.
Dress for the weather conditions.
Sunscreen and Bug repellant in season.
Water.
Small first aid items.

**DOGS:** Well behaved dogs welcomed. Leash up as applicable.

**SUPPORT A LOCAL CAFE:**
Stop for a coffee afterwards at Delaney's Lynn Valley.

**HOW TO FIND US:** Meet outside Delany's in the Lynn Valley Library Square. Be careful of parking as the parkade is time limited and the mall parking may be monitored too. Try a side street nearby.
