What we’re about
For over 10 years, the Waltham Trail Runners have been running the roads and trails of Waltham and surrounding communities. Whether you're a casual runner, a competitive racer or just starting out, our runs have something for everyone. We're a great group of people that like to get some miles in and have fun while doing it!
We're fortunate to have great running routes in Waltham, including paths and trails along the Charles River, Prospect Hill Park and the Western Greenway, and nice neighborhood routes in and around the area.
Runs are scheduled nearly every day and most runs allow for a wide range of paces and ability!

Got a case of the Mondays? This “Goldilocks” run, which starts and finishes at Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co., will cure it!It's 4-mile, all road, loop that’s not too easy and not too hard, but just right. Great beer, food, and company await to motivate you through to the finish.
Mile 1: 125’ climb up Trap-elo
Mile 2: Rolling recovery mile
Mile 3: Nice and easy descent – or leg it out, the beer is near
Mile 4: Flat with a final kick up Mighty Squirrel Mountain
(Sometimes we do the reverse.)If you see PLUS in the title & you're an experienced trail runner, then grab your trail shoes & join us for 4+ mi of rocks, roots, mud, & hills in Beaver Brook / Rock Meadow / Lone Tree Convservation. (Think Prospect Hill 4 Miler with 1/2 the elevation.) The trail group leaves the brewery @6:10-6:15 & runs 8-9 min/mi pace to be back around 6:50.
Run the trails for an extra challenge, run the road course for the regular challenge, or be extra mighty & grind 8+ mi & 500'+ of elevation!
NOTES:
- We consider this an intermediate-level route for runners. (And the PLUS an intermediate-level route for trail runners.)
- Sweeper Policy: No sweeper. (See the first bullet.)
- If you're not feeling Mighty, there's a shorter 2.5 mi route you can run.
- The avg. pace of the group is between 8-9 min/mi. Some run faster (6-7 min/mi), some run a little slower (9-10 min/mi).
- If it's your first Mighty Monday, introduce yourself & let us know what pace you run so you can buddy-up or find the person you'll be chasing down.
- Here's what's brewing.
- Here's the food truck schedule.
