What we’re about

Warrior Wisdom, founded by Ki Smith, MA, LPCc, offers courses in "Power-Conscious Nonviolent Communication for Collective Liberation" (PNVC). This approach integrates mindfulness, The Right Use of Power™ ethics, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) for a liberatory take on Nonviolent Communication. For more about these approaches, please go to the modalities page of the Warrior Wisdom website.

We All Have Universal Human Needs
As human beings, we have deep needs and desires for connection with others. We long to be seen and heard, to understand, and to be understood. These needs arise for us in our intimate relationships with romantic partners, friends, and family members, as well as in our relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and business partners. The paradox is that while deepening in relationship with others creates more potential for these needs to be met, it also opens us up to a greater risk of being hurt.

A PNVC course is for you if:

  • You value integrity and truth in your relationships with others, and want to live in authenticity with yourself while also valuing the needs of others.
  • You want to relate to yourself and others from a place of mindful compassion, while holding awareness for and engaging responsibly with the complex dynamics of power which influence all relationships.
  • You long to practice life-serving boundaries in your personal and professional relationships and to courageously turn towards conflict and rupture with the intention to reconnect and repair.
  • You would like to develop a healthy relationship with power, and learn how to hold it wisely and well. You want to cultivate deeper connection to your personal power so that you can meet challenges in relationship with confidence, curiosity, clear communication, and welcoming "the other" from embodied connection to your wisest self.
  • You may have had some prior training in Nonviolent Communication or the Right Use of Power™, and you want to go deeper. You'd like to be a part of a community of practice so that you can more deeply integrate compassionate communication with a conscious and heart-ful approach to ethics.
  • You want to cultivate more capacity to communicate with compassion and vulnerability while also holding your power with wisdom and responsibility.

The mainstream modern culture often lacks the skills for deep, healthy relationships, leaving many struggling with communication under the influence of past hurts and power dynamics. Warrior Wisdom's courses provide pathways back to connection, emphasizing the strength of the heart in holding power.

Understanding collective liberation involves recognizing our interdependence beyond modern society's fragmentation. Healing individual and collective traumas requires awakening to our multiplicity and interconnectedness, using tools like IFS, contemplative psychotherapy, power-consciousness, and NVC. This holistic approach aims to dissolve the illusion of separation, fostering collective liberation by healing internal and external divides.

"Our survival as a species depends on our ability to recognize that our well-being and the well-being of others are in fact one and the same." - -Marshall Rosenberg
