Plan is to get 11.00 train from Waterford to Kilkenny and return on either the 20.16 (arrives Waterford at 20.56) or now we have a later option of 22.13 (arrives Waterford at 22.50) Train costs €12.50 return, please Revolut before 17 Nov to secure your place - @sandrangi8, adding your name and train to comments. Have brunch in Aran Artisan Bistro on arrival. Deposit of €10 will be required nearer the date.

Stroll around Kilkenny Castle (entry is €8 for self guided tour €6 for seniors, guided tours slso available - pre-booking recommended).

Visit the Smithwick's Experience and taste Ireland’s most popular ale. Cost is €20/€18 for seniors.

St Canice's Cathedral and Round Tower is another impressive structure. Explore the cathedral and climb to top of 30 metre high round tower. €12 to visit Cathedral and climb Tower. Operated on first come, first serve basis. Booking required.

Journey through the history of Kilkenny at the Medieval Mile Museum, €9 for interactive audio tour or €12 for guided tour.

Shop till you drop in McDonagh Junction, and Kilkenny Design.

Late afternoon, enjoy food in one of the numerous restaurants or maybe have a cocktail, listening to music in Biddy Early's!

All above suggestions are optional, people are free to organise their own itineraries and split into smaller groups, meeting up during the day for refreshments!
