Join us for a 5.3 mile hike at the Great Falls of the Potomac. We will start at the parking lot across the street from the Old Anglers Inn (Note the address on the Meetup is the restaurant address, but you can't miss the parking lot.) We will walk the C & O Canal to the overlook at the Great Falls of Potomac and then hike Billy Goat Trail A (rock scramble). Billy Goat Trail A is only 2 miles long, but it is a lot of fun. Rocks, water, a beach. What else could you ask for in a hike? We may even see kayakers and some wildlife. We hiked it on 11/9/24 and saw two whitewater kayakers, great blue herons, ducks, and deer. The herons and deer are clearly used to seeing people as they were all within 15' - 20' from us and weren't spooked.

No dogs are allowed at the overlook or Billy Goat Trail A.

The parking lot WILL fill up on a nice day. Thus, the early hike start.

Afterwards, we will go for "breakfast" at McLean Family Dinner (15 minutes away) or wherever the group decides.

REMINDER: For liability reasons, guests are not allowed on WatersEdge events. If you are bringing someone else, please have them sign up individually.
