Another in our series of hikes for kayakers, this hike features views of the largest river in the eastern USA. The Susquehanna's watershed is 27,500 square miles, and all that water passes the Conowingo Dam and flows past the Susquehanna State Park.

Come walk the Ridge Trail. With the leaves off the trees, we will have extensive openings with nice views of the river. There will be some climbing but not too difficult. We have 2 options, a short and a long, both starting on the Ridge Trail and returning on the River Trail. The short trail (about 5 miles) would include the Ridge and River trails. The longer trail (about 7 miles) adds the Green Trail that follows the ridge over Deer Creek.. The longer option includes 2 state champion trees. The shorter includes only one. We can decide at lunch which option that we want to do.

Meet at the parking area near the mill in the Rock Run Historic Area. The address is: Rock Run Gristmill, 761 Stafford Rd, Havre De Grace, MD 21078.
Bring water, lunch, and snacks. If anyone is interested, we can make a visit to Hopkins Farm Brewery after the hike. I am not sure if they will have food.
