What we’re about
Welcome! The goal of this Meetup is to be a place where you can, play and sing with other guitarists and musicians, share songs you like, or wrote, and show us how to play, learn new songs and expand your repertoire, offer playing tips to others, gain confidence in your playing/singing. Music will range from Novice to intermediate in difficulty. All types of music acceptable.
We will take turns leading songs, but we are a No-Pressure Meet-Up, and you can Play or Pass on your turn. No one expects perfection! Do your songs your way and no need to sound like any recording – just have fun with it! I Invite you to bring enough printed lyrics (~10 copies) and chords to share with others and show your appreciation and encouragement for others' efforts and abilities. If you don't have copies to share or bring, music you can select a song from "Ultimate Guitar" that will be projected on a screen for us to follow. If you have a music stand, recommend you bring it, if not no big deal. Typically, a Capo will be required for some songs, so if you have one, I recommend you bring it.
There are a number of online resources to draw from for sheet music such as "Ultimate Guitar" (ultimate-guitar.com) or Cordie.com (Cordie.com).
The group is being held at Folkmoot (room A12), however the group is not sponsored by Folkmoot so if you plan on attending, please sign up so I can make sure we are accommodated. If nobody has signed up (other than me) I will have to cancel that meetup date, so PLEASE SIGN UP if you plan on attending.
