What we’re about
Want to volunteer in your community and make some great friends along the way? Then this is the group for you! Founded by former members of Austin Kiwanis Young Professionals, We Serve Austin - Young Professionals is designed for busy young adults in their 20s and 30s who: a) want to meet fellow young professionals who share their passion for volunteering; b) go out and perform a variety of community service projects in the Austin area; and c) get together to socialize both after projects and occasionally during the month. Our formula is simple. Each month will schedule a few service projects. We'll try to keep a good balance between recurring and one-time projects, and all projects will occur on weeknights or weekends when young professionals are most available. After each project we'll have a lunch/dinner, happy hour, or something else planned. And we'll have 1-2 stand alone socials planned during the month. This is the core of the group - service and fellowship.
Before participating, I encourage all volunteer enthusiasts to read our Volunteer Liability Release and our Cancellation and No-Show Policy.

Travis County Brown Santa is a community service program of the Travis County Sheriff's Office. This program provides assistance to underprivileged children and their families in Travis County and senior residents of local retirement centers in Travis County. We will be helping wrap gifts that will be given to families so that they can all have some gifts to open on Christmas Day.
*NOTE:* We're all encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift to donate when volunteering + any ornament to help them decorate their Christmas tree. You can check out the current list of what they need here: https://www.brownsanta.org/donate/
Also, this is the final week for volunteering for them, so we are hoping to still be gift wrapping. There is a chance that we could be called on to do other work.
