Details
A sharing followed by an optional walk.
Location is Pitstone/Ivinghoe because that's where I know some walks too! Other location we could do is Dunstable Downs cafe. Let me know if you prefer Ivinghoe or Dunstable Downs.
If <4 people total want to attend, I might call it off for another day/location.
Come with your fave wellbeing book, or just come with the most impactful message you have had from a book, article , or YouTube video. Share the message/lesson with the rest of us and tell us how it enhanced your life.
It could be nutrition, spirituality, nature, exercise, mindfulness, assertiveness, organisation, communication... Any topic you like.
I have loads of fave books that made a positive impact on my life. One of them is The Compassionate Mind by Paul Gilbert. It helped me to understand the evolutionary reasons for negative bias, and the survival mechanism of making worst case conclusions.
Knowledge is power.
Once I understood, I was able to observe these automatic mechanisms in my own psyche, and question their validity, leading to greater peace of mind and self acceptance. You can't describe true self compassion, but once you know it, you know it. I don't believe that if we have compassion for others, we by default have it for ourselves. It seems to me that we tend to be harder on ourselves.
What do you think?
Come and let me know and share your own impactful book, article, YouTube etc lesson.
Cup of tea etc, food if you wish, then a local walk for 30-60 mins. If the weather is cold and wet, bring suitable clothes and shoes. If the weather is disastrous, we will skip the walk.
