AI adventures into Threat Modelling
Details
We're at Starfish Consulting, Level 10, 141 The Terrace or off Cable Car Lane.
Blaise St-Laurent ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/blaise-st-laurent-9b44929/ ) has been working in security his entire 20+ year career, starting with threat and risk assessments and technical consulting to the Canadian government, pivoting through security network design and its implementation for the New Zealand National Grid through to his specialisation 4 years ago in the Cloud Security field. He has worked with ZX Security and now Bastion Security Group since its inception, and, in that time he’s reviewed and consulted with on over 50 cloud implementations across Google, Microsoft, Oracle and Amazon’s cloud offering.
Blaise decided his head had spent enough time in his sand about AI and the actual practical applications beyond the hype. When a customer asked him to look into the viability of using AI for Threat Modelling, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to explore gen AI as it applies to specialised knowledge, not just making pictures of cats riding skateboards. He'll discuss the applications of AI for security, but also his journey in understanding the pros, cons and how to live with AI, as all of his customers are going to ask.
Knowing Blaise, we'll quickly be off topic and into any number of fascinating stories we can all learn from. It's going to be fun and you won't quite think about security the same afterwards.
Everyone is welcome - if you are in an IT/Digital role or considering one, you do architecture and you should come along and meet us. This talk will be particularly useful for folks considering an Architect role or want to know what Architects do.
This talk will be both in person and remote via Teams. I'll post links to the Teams session closer to the time.
