WN Chess Club

The Wellington Chess Club meets every Thursday evening from 7:30pm at the Wellington Bridge Club, 17 Tinakori Road Thorndon.

Thorndon is a charming inner-city suburb of Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. (The coolest little capital in the world according to some people who should know). Competitive players of all strengths will find Wellington Chess Club a great place to enjoy real, old-fashioned over-the-board chess with serious opponents.

We welcome casual visitors and new members. Almost all club nights are assigned to a regular series of competitive tournaments, but most nights feature at least some informal chess that guests can participate in.
