Pickled WoRMs Run
Details
This run is suitable for people who have run on the trail before and a bit of running fitness is required as we are going up hills. But don't worry if you think you'll be slow, no one is left behind and we always split into groups. We will be heading up into the hills on either side of the valley, some days up to Wrights hill, and some days to the skyline, and others to Makara peak, finally looping back to the pub by 7:45-8pm for the all-important burgers and beers at the Pickle Jar.
Slowcial group - usually 6-8km, plenty of stops for a breather and for people to catch up. Ideal group if you are a newbie.
Medium group - usually 8-10km, slightly quicker pace, stops for a breather and for people to catch up.
Fast group - usually 10-12km, pace depends on who's leading and the size of the group.
Trail shoes are recommend and
from April to September you'll require a head torch. The weather can be pretty changeable too so consider a rain jacket and something warm to change into for the pub.
