Immerse yourself in nature while nurturing your mental well-being with like-minded peers.
Rock Creek Greenway is a well-shaded, paved pathway connecting four parks on its way across Gainesville, from downtown to Lake Lanier. We will begin our walk on the trail’s eastern end at Rock Creek Park meeting in the small outdoor amphitheater. From there, the trail heads west, soon reaching Ivey Terrace Park. As the trail approaches the lake, Wilshire Trails Park offers restrooms. The last park on the trail is Longwood, which offers a beautiful view of the Lake.
We will start the walk with a brief icebreaker and light stretching as needed. We will walk the Rock Creek Greenway all the way to Longwood Park where we will sit by the lake and do guided mindfulness exercises. We will walk back and end the walk with a group reflection activity.
