Wheathampstead, Coleman Green, Brocket Hall Circular Walk

Don & I recce’d this walk yesterday and have pleasure putting it up. Not too muddy, reasonably flat and some fantastic Autumn colours on view 🍂

Be ready to leave @ 10:20. Please be prompt. East Lane Free car park AL4 8SB (Behind Miller & Carter)

From the car park we follow little tracks and enclosures before turning South and through the very picturesque Devil's Dyke 😈 At Beech Hyde Farm we cross some fields to Coleman Green where we’ll marvel at the Grade ll listed John Bunyan’s Chimney. We’ll saunter off to follow some bridle paths 🐴 to the Crooked Chimney Pub, where we’ll stop for a cheeky rest. The walk then goes around and through Brocket Hall and its golf course ⛳️ to follow the trickling River Lea to a ford at Waterend 💦 and then make our way back to Wheathampstead. We may partake in The Swan pub after 🦢
The walk will take roughly 3-3.5hrs and is approximately 7-7.5miles.
