What we’re about
The West Valley Hiking Meetup Group was formed so people in the West Valley can connect with other hikers for safety and companionship while exploring the beauty that Arizona has to offer. The majority of hikes will be in the west valley, but we plan destination hikes one to two times per month especially during the summer months when we head north for cooler weather.
This meetup group is especially welcoming to retired seniors who can hike during the week. However, all adult hikers are welcome.
Members should be well-prepared for each event attended by taking personal responsibility for their own safety and educating themselves on the skills and knowledge needed to be safe.
Safety Tips:
Keep track of where you are with GPS and / or trail markers.
Bring twice as much hydration as you think you will need.
Bring snacks for energy.
Must have cell phone / capability of texting to participate.
I am open to feedback and suggestions. Please let me know if there are any destinations within Arizona that you are interested in.
