BE SURE TO SELECT THE CORRECT CLAPHAM. NOT THE ONE IN LONDON!
Why is the train station not near the village? Trains were originally used for moving cargo/goods, not people.

Itinerary
Meet at the information board outside the public toilets. Once anyone coming by train has arrived we will set off. We start by cutting through the village to Cross How Lane and follow this to Old Road. We follow this road briefly before taking a footpath through the fields to the village of Newby.
We cut through more fields to the farming hamlet of Cold Cotes and then through more fields until we rejoin Old Road. We walk down the country road until we can take a path towards Ingleborugh which will have been towering above us this whole time. Up until now the walk is pretty much flat, 50m of overall ascent between the car park and here which is approx 3mi/5km.
Now the ascent up Ingleborough starts. We start off cutting through more fields with a gradual ascent to Jenkin Beck and cross over the stream until we come onto a dirt/farm road called Fell Lane. We follow this until it turns into a path. The overall ascent so far from Old Road is approx 100m spanning approx 1.5mi/2.5km. The next 1.5mi/2.5km is to the top of Ingleborough and is approx 400m of elevation gain.
Once at the top, hopefully the summit will be clear and we can enjoy the views out towards the Irish Sea, Lake District, Howgill Fells and Forest of Bowland. Once we ready we veer off the normal route off the top of Ingleborugh to descend down to Little Ingleborough. We then descend down to Gaping Gill (a big hole in the ground with the largest underground waterfall in the UK (or maybe just England?) which you can go down in August).
We then continue descending down through a stunning limestone canyon into woodland and pass Ingleborough Cave (must pay to enter it and I think you pay in Clapham). We end the walk by following the dirt road passed the lake here and then take a path back into Clapham, where we can go to a pub for food & drink.
