This Month's Speaker:
Dr. Zac Yanis - Neuropsychologist - North Point Neuropsychology
Dr. Zac is a clinical neuropsychologist, former NCAA Division 1 athlete, and soon-to-be adjunct faculty member at Lipscomb University. His extensive experience, including faculty roles at Mercer University and Shepherd Center’s Neuropsychology Fellowship—has positioned him at
the innovative intersection of neuroscience and sport.

optimize recruitment strategies. Dr. Zac leverages neuroplasticity, data-driven evaluations, biomechanical analysis, and a unique focus on tactical empathy and strategic communication to enhance performance.
His extensive experience includes recent work as a special guest on Chris Voss’s upcoming TV show, That’s Right with Chris Voss, where he discussed the role of neuroscience and tactical empathy in building trust with athletes and maximizing their potential.
Dr. Zac also recently founded Audacity, a unique distance running team under USATF aimed at helping unrecruited or underrecruited runners reach NCAA Division 1 scholarship levels or secure elite sponsorships. This is achieved through the confident disregard of conventional expectations and dismissal of arbitrary limitations.

Your Brain On Networking: Disarming The Amygdala Alarm
Ever feel like your brain goes into fight-or-flight mode at networking events, or hell, maybe even freeze mode? You’re not alone! Many of us have been there—standing in a crowded room, heart racing, palms sweating, with our minds blanking on the perfect elevator pitch we rehearsed earlier. It's at these moments when the amygdala, our brain's alarm system, kicks into high gear, triggering a stress response that can make networking feel like a daunting task. But fear not! Join us for "Your Brain On Networking: Disarming The Amygdala Alarm," where we'll explore why this happens and equip you with strategies to calm those nerves and engage with confidence. This talk is designed to help you transform anxiety into empowerment, turning networking events from intimidating experiences into opportunities for authentic connections. Don't miss out—your new, fearless networking self awaits!
About BAD at Networking
Does the mere thought of networking make you cringe? Do you break out in a cold sweat at the idea of small talk with strangers? Well, have we got an event for you! Welcome to BAD (Business and Drinks) at Networking, the networking event for people who hate networking events.
Picture this: a chill night in Chattanooga spent amongst your peers, with a drink in hand, and zero pressure to "work the room." This isn’t your typical networking circus where you have to pretend to be interested in yet another elevator pitch. Nope, we’ve tossed the rulebook out the window and replaced it with good vibes and genuine connections.
## What Makes BAD Special?
- Anti-Networking Vibes: This is for the casual networkers, the young professionals, and the local pros who’d rather engage in meaningful conversations than collect a stack of business cards.
- Relaxed Atmosphere: The kind of place where you can be yourself, not your LinkedIn profile.
- No Pressure: Forget the awkward icebreakers and forced mingling. At BAD, you connect when you want to, and chill when you don’t.
## Who Should Attend?
- Young Professionals: Fresh faces looking to make their mark but allergic to traditional networking jargon.
- Casual Networkers: Those who enjoy meeting new people but prefer a more laid-back setting.
- Local Professionals: Chattanooga's finest who are tired of the same old networking scene and are ready for something refreshingly different.
## Why You Should Join Us
BAD is your ticket to making authentic connections without the awkwardness. It's a night to relax, laugh, and maybe even make a valuable contact or two—without feeling like you’re working overtime. Plus, with a drink in hand, everything just feels a little easier, doesn’t it?
Can't join us this time? No worries, this will be a recurring event for the first Tuesday of each month. Assuming this one goes well, I will start scheduling guest speakers for each month.
