Wild Mushroom Extravaganza

Mushrooms are a mystery to many people. The Fungi are an entire branch on the tree of life. And yet, if you are like most people, you know almost nothing about them. This class is designed to change that! We will cover the basics of mushroom anatomy and physiology, discussing how these fascinating organisms live and reproduce. Then you will learn the essential features and basic vocaublary associated with mushroom ID. After we have talked about general mushroom ID, we will get specific, and you will learn to confidently identify several common, edible wild mushrooms that grow in our area. And a mushroom education isn't complete without a mushroom tasting. So you will learn this all while sipping wild mushroom drinks and grazing on a charcuterie spread filled with wild foods and mushrooms.
