Join us for the Lighting of the Sonoma Plaza!

The kick-off to the popular Holidays in Sonoma, join thousands of residents and visitors as we fill the historic Sonoma Plaza with the bright glow of a quarter-million lights. The evening will include music, performances, food trucks and the chance to visit the holiday displays around the 8-acre Sonoma Plaza.

Seems like the whole town of Sonoma shows up for this event to see the lighting of the trees. Especially when they light up the tall palm tree with a quarter million white lights on it as if it were New Years eve.

This is a really fun event on the square, it gets crowded so I won't bring a chair because everyone is standing. You might want to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy and share. Your also welcome to bring your family to this event. Don't forget to dress warm and maybe a flashlight it get dark earlier now.

The lighting of City Hall and the trees around the plaza kicks off the Holiday Season in Sonoma Valley, with special events being held throughout November, December and January. There will be food, wine, beer, music and thousands of bright lights.

The Soul Section Band

The Soul Section is a great North Bay Area band with its primary focus on the great funk and soul music of the 60's and 70's. They also draw favorites from the deep well of the entire Rock era.

This group of experienced musicians share a passion for live performance and a solid dance beat. The band has a huge following often selling out places like the Mystic Theater in Petaluma and the California Theater in Santa Rosa.

One of the elements that has made The Soul Section so popular is its three-woman horn section, all of whom have a tendency to dance and bop and go a little crazy every time they play together.
