Handmade Christmas Gift Exchange Party
Details
Join us for creativity and connection at this festive holiday gathering!
Need a good excuse to get those creative juices flowing?
There’s no better time than the holidays to indulge in some good old-fashioned “Creative Therapy”!
Enjoy the peace and calm that comes over you as your creative juices are flowing, experience the satisfaction of starting and finishing a project and have fun as you take part in some holiday cheer!
Here is how it all works:
Say we have a group of 20 friends attending the party (20 will be the maximum), everyone will then bring 20 wrapped gifts (gift bags are a good choice). The gifts you bring can be handmade, baked, or ‘assembled’, and may be different colors or flavors, but all need to be basically the same item. Every person that brings 20 gifts will leave with 20 different gifts (you keep one of your own).
There is no spending limit, but about $5-$10 per gift is recommended, for example: candles, cookies, cards, body scrub, jewelry, a handmade ornament, something painted or sewn.
If you want to take it to another level, you can include the instructions (or recipe) of how to make your gift (not required, but some may appreciate this).
After a time of conversation and munching on holiday treats, we will sit down with the fire crackling and Christmas music playing in the background as we go around in a circle, each person in turn handing out their gifts and describing how they’ve made it.
By giving everyone their own prototype as well as the instructions, they can easily do it themselves at home. Everyone goes home at the end of the night with 20 ready-to-go gifts (either to keep and enjoy or re-gift) and instructions to do so again.
Remember, the gifts can be as simple as putting tea leaves in a pretty jar with a ribbon and a gift tag, to something crocheted, or a small framed piece of art you’ve created. The sky is the limit as you indulge in your own favorite brand of creativity! The idea is to give others ideas and a repertoire of gifts to give out to their friends and family…or to keep for themselves to enjoy the season!
Event will take place at hosts home in San Marcos.
Address will be provided via messaging once signed up.
All party guests are asked to bring one Christmas food item to share as well as the 20 handmade gifts. Host will message everyone with the final count of how many people will be participating one week before the event. After all, if we only have 12 people attending, you don’t need to make 20 gifts! So attendees must RSVP at the latest one week before the event.
Come enjoy some holiday cheer, connection and creativity with new friends!
