What we’re about

We are a group of active, fit women in our 40's, 50's, 60's and up who enjoy getting out and hiking in nature in a supportive and safe environment. We offer social pace (slower) and moderate/brisk pace (faster) hikes at easy, moderate and hard levels. Difficulty of hike is determined by three factors- length, elevation gain and pace.  For safety, we encourage all hikers to be vaccinated for Covid. Some hiking leaders may require proof of Covid vaccination for their hikes. We love dogs, but do not allow them on our hikes.

Please note that we do not guarantee anyone's safety when hiking. You are responsible and liable for keeping yourself safe. Hike leaders/Meetup are not responsible/liable for your safety.

We use a very small yearly membership fee to cover the cost of meetup and support the Washington Trail Association (WTA). If you can't attend a hike, please change your RSVP to "not going" at least 24 hours in advance so that someone else can have your spot. Two no shows and you are removed from the group. There are no refunds of membership fees.

Please turn on message notifications so you can receive messages for hikes you are signed up to attend.

Types of Hikes
SOCIAL PACE HIKES. Social pace hikes are easy and moderate hikes at a slower pace.
BRISK/MODERATE PACE HIKES: Brisk/moderate pace hikes are moderate and hard hikes at a faster pace.
Easy Hikes: Usually under 1000 feet in elevation gain, 4-7 miles long and at an easy pace. In order to complete an easy hike, members should be able to walk at least 3 miles on pavement, including a significant hill, in one hour.
Moderate Hikes: Under 2000 feet elevation gain, 4-12 miles and moderate pace. Hikers may be screened for experience and gear. Members without hiking experience should not sign up for a moderate hike unless they have completed an easy hike.
Hard Hikes: Over 2000 feet in elevation gain, 4-16 miles and moderate to fast past. Hikers may be screened for experience and gear. Members must be able to keep up with a brisk pace and should have significant hiking experience.
Please only sign up for the type of hikes you are capable of completing with the group. Looking forward to seeing you on the trail!
