Monday Evening Write Club

Details

What is Write Club?
It is a commitment to yourself to sit down and write. We created Write Club for people, like ourselves, who want to write, but don't make the time on our own. It is focusing on the work while others do the same. It is not a class or opportunity to sell, it’s your accountability to yourself to get the work done.

Who can join Write Club?
Anyone who wants to write, no matter the experience level or genre. Make sure you have a profile photo and a brief description of yourself.

When is Write Club?
Monday evenings at 6:30pm (18:30) to 8:00pm (20:00) - and may go into overtime

How does Write Club work?
Start - 5-10 mins are for Introductions (name, what you’re working on, friendly encouragement)
Middle - 70-80 mins of quiet writing knowing that others are nearby working in solidarity.
Finish - 5 mins or more for wrap-up, to discuss progress and chat a bit (optional)

Where is Write Club?
Starbucks at the Almada Forum - We chose this location due to easy access to public transit, major motorways and ample parking.
Estr. Vale de Mourelos 1011, 2810-354 Almada (Floor 0, Almada Forum)

What is needed for Write Club?
Pen/pencil & paper, computer, tablet, phone, any medium you wish to get the writing done. Access to power is not guaranteed, so make sure batteries are powered up or bring an additional power source. (Headphones are optional)

Are there Rules for Write Club?
RSVP and keep it updated so we can accommodate all attendees. No-shows will be recorded, and repeats will be banned.
Bring a euro or three to buy something from Starbucks to make sure we are welcome.
You are welcome to share your own work, but there is no critiquing, or reading of others' work unless agreed upon.
