What we’re about
20s, 30s, and 40s (younger) adventure group, primarily focused around Skiing, Snowboarding, and the Outdoors. Lowest cost trips. Primarily based out of Philadelphia area, but with members who travel with us from all over USA. Goal is for new members to have a sense of community and to experience awesome trips to amazing mountains together.
Most trip coordination is done via Facebook Messenger. Please send a message to John Harper with userID jph183psu on Facebook Messenger so we can communicate easier. Often times people's Meetup settings aren't set correctly to receive emails, and if we send you a Facebook Messenger message first, it goes into a hidden section.
Please check your Meetup messenger every once in a while too, especially if you hope to attend a trip or meetup and haven't seen any communication about it.
We have some "sister" groups based in Philly, Boston, NYC, Denver with a lot of overlapping members that we hope to publish trips and events with from time to time.

Use this location: Sourland Mountain Hiking Trail
Come and join Xplore n More on a fun day hike. We'll be hiking about 6 miles through the Sourland Mountain Preserve. As we make our way up the mountain (don't worry, it's New Jersey, and only a big hill) there will be opportunities to do some rock scrambling, but you can always go around if you don't want to participate. The trail can be a little rocky at times, so be prepared with some good hiking shoes to protect those ankles. Near the top, we'll stop at a lookout where we can view the New York City sky line if the weather is clear. We'll also stop along the roaring brook for a short break and snacks at about the half way point.
We'll be hiking at about a 2.75 mph pace and should finish within 2 1/2 to 3 hours. The elevation is moderate with about 800 feet of elevation gain and should be OK for experienced hikers.

THE TRIP:
You all voted to move this trip to the second weekend in December, and we listened! This trip usually marks the official start of the Xplore N More (XNM) ski season. If you are contemplating going on trips with members this winter, the goal of this early season weekend is to give people a chance to get to know each other ahead of time in a relaxed atmosphere, on a short weekend.We are are heading to the town of Killington, Vermont. Since there will be people with Ikon, Epic and Indy Passes within the group, people will ski at both Killington and Okemo, or both. The drive to Okemo is only about 30 minutes from Cascades Lodge and people will carpool.
LODGING: Cascades Lodge at Killington
Like the last few years, we have the entire hotel to ourselves! We are only putting two people per room so that no one needs to share a bed, unless a king is requested (first come first serve). We will pair you up if you are signing up individually as most people do. Please answer if you are open to a triple room since a few rooms have extra beds (some money would be refunded if 3 in a room after the trip). This can help get more people on the trip as we have always filled the hotel. This price includes Saturday group pizza/salad dinner. If you are looking for a single room, or to put three or four in a room, reach out for pricing.$185 per person for two nights

If you are interested in purchasing an Ikon Pass or Epic Pass, reach out to John to see what special XNM group deals are available. Okemo is unlimited on the Epic Local Pass and 2 or 3 day Epic Passes may also be used.
