Gettysburg National Military Park Museum

MEET AT 8:00 AM at the Visitor's Center by the ticket center. Located 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325. The museum, film, and cyclorama painting are within the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center, which is owned and operated by the Gettysburg Foundation operating in partnership with the National Park Service to preserve Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site and to educate the public about their significance. The recommended time is 2-3 hours.

Although the building is free to enter, there are fees for the museum, film, and cyclorama painting. Fees and passes are listed on the museum's website. The full experience is $21.75 or $14.75 for museum access only. See https://www.nps.gov/gett/planyourvisit/fees.htm

68th Annual Remembrance Day Parade

MEET AT 12:45 PM: Please message through the app as the idea is to find a good location along the parade route before it begins at 1pm. See below for parade route details or visit https://destinationgettysburg.com/event/68th-annual-remembrance-day-parade/.

Since its initiation in 1868, Remembrance Day has served as a beacon of remembrance and reflection, drawing visitors from far and wide to honor the sacrifices made on the sacred grounds of the Gettysburg Battlefield, where the echoes of the past resonate with solemnity and honor. Remembrance Day has evolved into a cherished tradition, now observed on a weekend closest to November 19th, the anniversary of President Lincoln giving The Gettysburg Address.

The day normally kicks off with the Annual Remembrance Day Parade, a stirring procession through the streets of Gettysburg, evoking the spirit of unity and patriotism.

The parade starts on Middle Street and proceeds to Baltimore Street and then to Steinwehr Ave. This annual parade honors the soldiers and civilians of the Civil War and is FREE.

Gettysburg American Brew Tour

MEET AT 1:45 PM in the front of The Brickhouse Inn Bed & Breakfast at 452 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325A. Tour claims to give a well-rounded view of the town through a mile-long walking tour of some of Gettysburg's most storied and up-and-coming breweries, wineries, and distilleries. It is supposed to be 2 1/2 hours.

If interested, please book in advance. The cheapest tickets I found are on Trip Advisor for $68. See https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g60798-d25150215-Gettysburg_American_Brew_Tour_By_Junket-Gettysburg_Pennsylvania.html.

There is also a "non-drinking" option for $40. Curious to see what the difference is, if any. One would assume there are some complimentary beverages for the $68 ticket. See https://civilwarghosts.com/gettysburg-brew-tour/

22nd Annual Remembrance Day Illumination at the Gettysburg National Cemetery

MEET AT 5:30 PM OR LATER at one of the visitor entrances to the cemetery. Please message through the app as the illumination is a few hours long and it may make sense to show up towards a later part of the ceremony once all the candles are lit.

As the sun sets, the Annual Remembrance Day Illumination takes place at the Gettysburg National Cemetery, where thousands of luminaries light up the night, each representing a soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice. This is an arduous task undertaken by volunteers lighting each grave individually. There may be music or a live performance as well.

Visitors enter the cemetery through the gate at Taneytown Road or the gate at Baltimore Street. The event is FREE and open to the public.

SUNDAY (11/17)

Late Breakfast or Coffee TBD

Meet at 10:30ish if interested in grabbing a late breakfast, brunch, or coffee. The location is TBD. Please message through the app.

Wonder Women of Gettysburg Hidden Valor Tour

MEET AT 11:45 AM in front of The Brickhouse Inn Bed & Breakfast at 452 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325A. Tour will be of historic Gettysburg and claims you will learn about the incredible women who shined behind the scenes as unsung heroines of the Battle of Gettysburg. While history covers the famous, the Wonder Women tour dives into stories of the common citizens of Gettysburg, women specifically, who protected the weak, nursed the injured, and buried the dead.

If interested, please book in advance. The cheapest tickets I found are on Trip Advisor for $20. I made the mistake of booking elsewhere for a bit more as I did not come across this lower price point until later in my research. https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g60798-d24817543-Wonder_Women_of_Gettysburg_Hidden_Valor_By_Junket-Gettysburg_Pennsylvania.html

Gettysburg Battlefield Tour TBD (bus or self-tour)

TENTAVILY MEET AT 2:45 PM at the Gettysburg Military National Park. Where? Depending on the information received at the Visitors Center when visiting the museum early Saturday or whether choose to do a bus tour. Battlefield tour departs from Gettysburg Tour Center, 778 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325 and visitors travel the historic fields of Gettysburg in the comfort of a guided tour bus and watch history come alive through the eyes of a licensed guide. Guide may stop at one of the following scenic locations.

**-**Gettysburg National Military Park, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325-7034
**-**Devils Den, Sickles Ave, Gettysburg, PA 17325
**-**Little Round Top, Gettysburg, PA
**-**Pickett's Charge, Gettysburg, PA

Another option is to purchase a self-guided tour at the Visitors Center. I believe this is through an app. This might be a better option than the bus tour. Another suggested option are Segway Tours or Bicycles. The park closes at sunset which is around 5pm this time of year.

If interested, please book in advance or on location. The cheapest tickets I found to book a bus tour in advance are on Trip Advisor for $41. As mentioned, it may be worth it to first visit the museum early Saturday before deciding. https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g60798-d11483053-2_Hour_Gettysburg_Battlefield_Guided_History_Bus_Tour_with_a_National_Park_Guide-Ge.html

*Kindly note that this itinerary is based on online research. It should be accurate but as with anything it may require a slight adjustment. That said, certain times and fees are firm. Therefore, please RSVP if interested in attending and also message through the app to coordinate the day of. If planning on attending a specific event only, please message which particular event(s) you will be attending.

Please message by chat should you have any questions. Thank you.
