Name: Backpacking the Finger Lakes Trail

This will be a two night winter backpacking trip in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. We’ll meet on Friday and leave a vehicle at the parking area at Underwood Hill Road. We’ll shuttle to the parking area for the Jim Shug Trail, near Dryden, to start our hike.

The hiking will be mostly on trails but there’s a somewhat lengthy road walk at the end of day two. If it’s a snowy winter then parking could be a problem. If that’s the case we may need to swap out this section for another. Stay tuned.

The meeting area is a short distance from where we will park, but will be easier to locate.

Friday: Jim Shug Trail to Foxfire Lean To (9.3 miles)
Saturday: Foxfire to Hoxie Tent Site (19 miles)
Sunday: Hoxie to Underwood Hill Road (8.7 miles)
