UPDATE 28.2.22
We are now completely back to operating as before the pandemic.
You no longer need to bring a LFT result with you.
You can just 'drop' into class sessions, no need to book!
Your instructors will continue to test and are fully vaccinated. We will continue to provide sanitiser.

UPDATE 2.1.2022
Under new guidelines introduced to combat the continued rise of the Omicron variant, we now require all class attendees to bring to class proof of a negative LFT reported to the NHS in the 12 hours before the class.

UPDATE 1.11.21

We are moving to a NEW CENTRAL WETHERBY LOCATION STARTING TUESDAY NOVEMBER 16TH
Wetherby class nights will be on TUESDAYS from now on.
New venue: St James Church rooms, Church St, Wetherby LS22 6LP
Parking in the car park opposite the hall and behind the hall is free to hall users. If full, town centre parking is free and unrestricted after 6pm.
Class times from the 16th will be as follows:
6:30 Beginners followed by 15mins dancing
7:45 Level 2 followed by 15mins dancing
9pm Level 3 followed by 30mins dancing
Classes cost £8 for one or buy 10 class card for £70
Student discount is on promotion atm until Xmas and is currently £4, returning to £6 after Xmas.

UPDATE September 2021
Hi I'm Trisha, the owner of Strictly Salsa. I've been teaching Salsa dancing for the last eighteen years in York and Wetherby. I also organise lots of different dancing events.
We've been through lots of changes due to the pandemic, but I am pleased to say that all our classes are BACK ON MONDAYS in YORK and THURSDAYS in WETHERBY. Our monthly social nights are successfully running now in a new venue over in Harrogate.
Venues:
Mondays at The RI Club, New Lane, Acomb, York YO24 4NT
Thursdays at Sicklinghall Village Hall, just outside Wetherby, LS22 4AU
Class format at both nights.
6:30 Beginners class and *first steps class for novice dancers
7:40 Level 3 Class (advanced)
8:45 Level 2 Class (intermediate) followed by social dancing.
*If you need a 'first steps' introduction class please contact us to arrange and we 'll be happy to organise that for you.
£8 for one class or buy a 10 class card for £70 cash or via bacs, message us for bank details.
No need to book unless a novice dancer needing a first steps class.
Please bring a drink with you as we have no bar facilities atm.
Both venues have plenty of free parking and solid wooden quality dance floors.

Re: Covid mitigations
Instructors are LFT tested before every class night and are fully vaccinated. We encourage you to test yourselves as tests are easy to access from your local chemists. Though not perfect, a test will help give you peace of mind attending a partner class where we all dance with each other.
We have a flexible approach at class nights for those happy to partner share and those wanting to stay separate and will accommodate both.
Wearing a face covering is voluntary. Most are choosing not to wear
one currently.
Double exit doors to the outside from the dance floor remain open whatever the weather, please wear warm layers on colder evenings.
Sanitiser is available around the room, please use at regular intervals.

We have had the privilege to inspire and teach some of the best and most well known Salseros, Salseras in the North. We assess and give personal feedback to all our dancers and move them through the class levels based upon ability. Aiming to give you the confidence and skills to allow you to join in the wider Salsa social scene. We always encourage a friendly supportive atmosphere throughout all class levels and add a good dollop of FUN !!
