What we’re about

We're a friendly group of walkers who love to explore the North York Moors and surrounding countryside. We usually try to visit a local cafe afterwards (if one's available) to relax and chat. Walks can be from 4 to 12 miles and last 3 to 6 hours including breaks and lunch. If you would like to lead a walk, please let the organiser know.

You will need good hiking boots and socks, waterproofs, hat, gloves, sunglasses, sun cream, walking poles (if required), a packed lunch (for longer walks) and plenty of water. We walk all year round so remember to dress appropriately for the weather.

Please ensure you have a profile picture so we can recognise you on the walk. This should be a recent photo of yourself that includes your face and does not include any other people - adults or children.

If you put yourself down for a walk, please remember to change your RSVP if you are unable to attend to give other people a chance. Repeated 'no shows' will be removed from the group.

Our walk leaders are volunteers without formal qualifications and we don't have insurance. You walk with the group at your own risk and agree to our terms and conditions https://4142298.xyz/wigginton-walking-group/about/

We are a not a for profit group and ask for a donation of £1 per walk to cover meetup site fees, travel costs and expenses for our event hosts, any remaining funds will be donated to a designated charity.

You are responsible for your own safety at all times. We ask that you respect the event host, remain mindful of the safety of others and always stay with the group.

We look forward to meeting you.
