What we’re about

‘You’tah Golf is for golfers of all ages and abilities who want to golf in a more social, relaxed, and safe environment while enjoying the game without expectations. This group is experimenting with allowing all members to set up events for the group, but do not feel like you are obligated to do this however, the success of the group does depend on its members to be active. Because ‘You’tah Golf is run by the members there are no annual fees or donations required.

It does help to have an understanding of the rules and etiquette on the golf course. Please be prepared to play ready golf and be mindful of the pace of play, be aware of your surroundings and follow good etiquette on the course, play from the appropriate tees based on your level, and most importantly be respectful and have fun.

If you are new and aren’t sure ask someone for clarification and more seasoned golfers be sure to help as we were all learning at one time. This is not a place for asking for golf instruction, that needs to be done on your own time.

Ideally it would be nice to have people all over Utah setting up events for the group.

How it Works:
If you want to golf grab a tee-time or 2, or more, and create an event on the group site. Set the number of attendees and if there can be a +1 and include the address of the Golf Course. Also, be clear in the description of times and if it is for 9 or 18 holes. The more advance notice you can give the better. When attending a event be ready to go 15 minutes prior to the first tee time. This allows the host to update the count to the clubhouse if needed. Also, the putting green is a great to meet as well.
Maybe you want to hit the driving range and practice with company feel free to set something up. Events can be ‘golfcentric’ as well, no need to keep it just to the GC. Play around and have fun!

When an announcement is posted, read the FULL description. Some courses now require Pre-Pay or have unique cancellation policies. If this is the case, the event host should mention this in the event description. Select the RSVP link to put your name on the list. There maybe a waitlist the events from time to time and this helps you to save your spot in line if an event is full and will clear automatically based on order, and it is the members responsibility to check if they have cleared the waitlist. Please be respectful to those on the waitlist. Don’t wait until the middle of the night to update your RSVP. Do so in a timely manner to allow those on waitlist a chance to see if they have cleared and update their RSVP.

RSVP/Waitlist Policy
Life can throw unexpected curves and if you RSVP'd and can't make it please update your status sooner rather than later so the Hosts can update the count with the Golf Course. Golf Courses reserve the right to charge for any unused tee times [thanks Covid]. ‘You’tah Golf will proudly ask you to pay for your discretion and reserves the right to allow you not to play until the fee has been paid.
If you find yourself on the waitlist, please check to see if you have cleared at a time frame that allows you to get to the event on time and ready to play. Do not count on Meetup or the Event Hosts to send out notifications that someone has cleared the waitlist.
If you are going to an event with a waitlist present and you do not change your status to 'Not Going' [preventing a fellow member from attending] and no-show the event. The next event that has a waitlist in which you are 'Going' you may be moved to the 'Waitlist', Its a 1:1 infraction.

NO-SHOW Policy
Organizers understand that life happens, and you can't always adjust your RSVP status in time. All we ask is to update your status as soon as you can and if you are unable to prior to the event to at least reach out to the organizer and let them know you were unable to update RSVP. No-shows are recorded and if it becomes problematic ‘You’tah Golf reserves the right to remove you from the group without warning.

OUR POLICIES
1. Most of our events have limits set as to the number of RSVP's allowed. Most of our events you can bring guests, but you are responsible for their showing up to the event.
2. If you RSVP to an event we understand things occur which may cause you to cancel or change the number of guests. Please be polite and cancel or make changes at least 24 hrs before the event to give others a chance to participate and/or allow event organizers time to adjust cancellation notices to the golf courses.
3. If you RSVP and are a NO-SHOW, including your guest/s (no cancellation or modification was given) you will be removed from the group!
No-shows put pressure on the coordinator/s to pay personally for your no-shows, and removes the chance for other members to participate in the event. Be responsible!
4. If you cancel with short notice that incurs a fee charge to the Organizer, you will be responsible for reimbursing the Organizer or you will be removed from the group!
5. Harassment of others on or off the course is not tolerated and may result in removal from the group.
No angry golf. Sure the game can be frustrating at times but throwing clubs and having a tantrum is not fun for the others in the group to watch. Sure you can be upset with a bad shot just don’t make a spectacle out of yourself.

Ultimately this is a self-policing group and if you have a comments or questions feel free to reach out.
