What we’re about
This group is open to anyone who would like to participate in or learn more about improvisation. No experience is necessary.
This group is dedicated to helping people of all backgrounds and experience levels learn about and practice improvisation in a safe and inclusive creative space.
Regardless of worldview, gender, ethnicity, nationality, orientation, disability, experience level, etc. everyone is welcome to come out and try new improvised things!
People of all experience levels are welcome!
You DO NOT need to be funny.
We aim to be as inclusive as possible with our games and jokes, while finding humor in our shared human experience.
We also recognize that human beings make mistakes.
We want this to be a place for attendees to learn and grow from their time with us.
As long as you respect everyone’s humanity, you’ll be just fine.
Improvisation can be many different things:
-Improvisation as building confidence in your own ability to react to the unexpected, to improve your own uncertainty tolerance,
-Improvisation as practice at “being in the moment,”
-Improvisation as experience in working with other people towards a common goal,
-Improvisation as cultivating your ability to read immediate feedback and incorporate it into the scene.
Improv can also be very funny, hilarious even, but it is first and foremost about being genuine.
Genuine as the character(s) you are creating in a scene, genuine in your reactions to what is occurring in a scene, and genuine in all of our commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, encouraging, creative, and open environment for learning AND play!
Join us to improve your ability to react in the moment, learn more about improvisation, let your fantastic weirdness come out to play, and/or just have fun while exploring new creative avenues and spaces!!!
Guests/spectators are welcome, and will be encouraged to offer suggestions to help create exciting and hilarious scenes!

We will meet in person and play improv games in a fun, relaxed, and judgment free setting.
People of all backgrounds and experience levels, especially no experience, are welcome!
We will start with a quick chat about the spirit of improv, an introduction to the fundamentals of improv, and then warm up both body and mind with exercises practicing improv principles.
We will then play games to help learn each other’s names, games to be intentionally silly, large group games, and explore smaller scale scene work; all while making sure that everyone gets an enjoyable amount of “stage” time.
We will wind down with a final group game and end with a round table for feedback on the session, announcement of upcoming events, and/or creative projects.
Join us to improve your ability to think on your feet, learn more about improvisation, let your creativity come out to play, and/or just have fun in what some of our attendees like to call your “Weekly weird!”
Cost is $5 to play and free to watch.
All fees will go towards the rental of the space.
