Meeting activities: Psilomelane!
Psilomelane will be the topic at the meeting for this month's "ROCK TALK". Jim Bowden will share with you: how to identify it, where to collect it, and how to cut cabochons from it. This mineral is a lesser known one to many rockhounds, but holds an elegant beauty. Be prepared to be shocked at the conclusion, when you hear about the new scientific discoveries that surround manganese ores like this one. We welcome members to bring in their psilomelane specimens or cabs to show the group after the talk.
