Zen Buddhist Temple is a community of Buddhist and meditation practitioners. Guided by Korean Zen tradition, we offer meditation services, classes, retreats as well as Buddhist studies and training. We're located in Chicago.
In this group we focus on the deep practice of meditation retreats. It is a period to free oneself from the concerns of daily life and absorb oneself completely in concentration. Our retreats provides a wonderful opportunity for discovering wisdom mind and developing a compassionate heart. Some of our retreats are instructional for those beginning a meditation practice, or for those wishing to refresh their practice after years of experience. Some of our other retreats are non-instructional, for experienced practitioners. Our retreats our open to all, regardless of religious affiliation or belief.

stopping instead of shopping!This one-day silent meditation retreat is an opportunity to put down our worries and concerns, unplug and step deeply into the liberating power of silence.
The retreat will be held on Friday, November 29th (the day after Thanksgiving) from 9am-6pm at Zen Buddhist Temple at 1710 W. Cornelia Ave. Chicago, IL 60657 (near Lincoln and Addison) one block north from the Paulina brown line stop. It includes rounds on sitting meditation, walking meditation, movement, rest, and a delicious vegetarian temple lunch.
The cost of the retreat is $60 OR $50 for temple members, full time students, or unwaged.
