For low intermediate level players and above. Players should know outdoor volleyball rules and have basic volleyball skills. No drama please.

This event is for B+ (mid-intermediate) level players (and above). Please check with one of the hosts if you are unsure about your current level of play (on sand).

Join us for our Advanced and Intermediate Open Play. Players must know basic rotation and passing skills to maintain safety and quality of play for all players.

Please note updates to our return to play COVID-19 protocols in the announcements on the group. In compliance with any local/state/federal mandates we reserve the right to cancel/terminate events without refund, to anyone refusing to follow compulsory health orders. Any such non-compliance may lead to further disciplinary action by the Hotlanta Volleyball Association board and members may be subject to sanctions or bans from play.

If this is your first time playing with HVA please sign up as an intermediate player. Our league chairs will help evaluate your level of play to ensure you are on the appropriate court. If you believe you are at a higher skill set (NAGVA BB rating or collegiate level) please talk to a league chair and they will direct you accordingly.

• Sign Up Policy: As a courtesy to those signing up -- ONLY those signing up are guaranteed a spot to play.
If you do not sign up or you are on the waiting list but show up -- you will not play unless there is an open spot, e.g. someone leaves or volunteers / shares their spot. This has become increasingly important. Do not just show up and expect to play. If you are on the waiting list and show up, please understand that the original 12 will always get priority, AND High B+ players only please!

• No Show policy: A "no-show" is when you RSVP 'YES' for an event but fail to attend it. If you are not going to be able to attend, please update your RSVP to "not going" so someone else can have your spot. No-shows hurt the group as it takes a spot away from a member who is willing to come and prevents organizers from getting a fair headcount for their events.

• Please note we can only save your spot up to 1hr after the start time. if you do not show up after 1/2 hour and not let the event host know your status then we will assume you are a no show and your spot will be given to the waitlist.

• The first no show will be exclude from the next sign up. Individuals with two (2) no-shows will be removed from the group and will not be allowed for signing up in the future event. No conversation, no warning, and no exceptions.

• If you are unsure whether you are playing at a High B+ level, please check with one of the host(s) prior to reserving a spot. It is the discretion of the host(s) to cancel your RSVP if you don't currently meet the minimum quality of play for High B+.

High B+ level description:
High B+ players are *almost*, but not quite BB (high intermediate). You will typically have no more than one area (serving, passing, setting, returning, defensive positioning, offensive strategy, and mobility) that still needs improvement before moving up to BB. At the High B+ level, executing these skills may be at times inconsistent but the effort to improve and play 3 hit volleyball is there. Whereas BB players are well-rounded in all areas, but at a minimum, their passes and sets are very consistent.

Rules. The Rules that we will be playing by are:

1. No open handed passing or returns/hits. Open handed only allowed on the set (2nd touch of the ball on offense).
2. No carries (that includes open handed dinks or "indoor dinks")
3. No hand setting over the net
4. No double contact (a player contacts the ball twice in succession or the ball contacts
   various parts of the player’s body successively)
5. No hitting the net
   Location. Don White Memorial Park. 705 B Riverside Road. About a quarter mile east of Highway 9 and Riverside Park. The exact location of the court is few dozen yards south of Riverside Road and further west from the the bridge than is indicated by the push pin on the Google Map.

I can only accomodate the fitst 3 people from the waitlist who physically show up no matter where you are on the waitlist.if you are more than 30 minutes after your stated arrival time, you may lose your spot. Event description

This is where we come together to play, improve, and enjoy the game. 🏐🫶Whether you’re a seasoned player or looking to transition from quads to doubles, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Important Info:

• Skill Level: We’re aiming for at least a low BB skill level, as this helps ensure competitive and enjoyable matches for everyone. (Please message either of the hosts if you are not sure of your level)

• Format: This meetup is strictly 2x2, so you should be comfortable with the format and understand the rules. If you’re transitioning from quads, no worries—we’re here to help you adapt and improve your doubles game!

• Fee: We will still collect a small $5 fee to cover court reservations at Cauley Creek Park. My Venmo/zelle info is below.
If you haven’t paid your $5 by Wednesday noon, you will be placed on the waitlist.

We value community and are committed to helping each other grow as players. Come out to play, meet new friends, and be part of a supportive and thriving volleyball community.
Try to play with as many different people as you can, instead of the same people every time. 👌 Usually it is play 2 games, sit 1 game. ✅ Be respectful of that and keep track of how much you are playing vs how much other people are playing.⚖️ Lastly, try to be proactive in inviting other people to play with you, especially people you might not usually play with!
