Greetings Everyone - Join us this Sunday for as we walk from Waipu Cove to Langs Beach and return.

Walking the Waipu Coastal Track in Northland, New Zealand, offers an immersive experience of rugged natural beauty and serene coastal landscapes.
This scenic trail stretches along the dramatic coastline, providing stunning views of Bream Bay and the offshore islands. The track, beginning near Waipu Cove, meanders through diverse terrains, including sandy beaches, rocky outcrops, and lush bushland.
As you traverse the track, you’ll encounter fascinating geological formations and tidal pools teeming with marine life. Birdwatchers will delight in the variety of seabirds, including the rare New Zealand dotterel. The trail also offers glimpses of historical sites, reflecting the rich Maori heritage and early European settler history of the area.
The clear, blue waters and the invigorating sea breeze create a refreshing ambiance, perfect for walking, picnicking, and photography.
The Waipu Coastal Track is well-marked and suitable for walkers of moderate fitness levels, making it an ideal day trip for families, nature lovers, and adventure seekers. This coastal walk provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy the scenic splendor of New Zealand’s Northland region.
Duration: About 4-5 hours hike including stops.
Distance: Approx 10-12 km.
Difficulty: 2.5 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes.
What the scale means
Cost: $25 for New World Car Poolers.
Toilets: At the start and at Langs Beach.
High Tide: 07:55.
● Post-Hike Gathering (Optional): After our adventure, you're welcome to join us for some well-deserved relaxation and camaraderie at the Mangawhai Tavern (Optional)

● Important Notes:
Care must also be taken when walking on the coastal rocks - good shoes are required. Care must also be taken on the road.
The return maybe via the road as it's high tide at 13:30

- Bring Food for your Lunch.

- 806 Cove Road - Waipu Cove (across the road)
- Mangawhai Tavern - Moir Street
● Carpooling:
- Carpooling will be arranged for everyone meeting at New World.
- Just ANSWER the RSVP question.
● Time Guideline: Times are Approx.
08:15 - Good time to arrive at New World
08:30 - Car pooling arranged and Leave.
10:10 - Everyone should be at 806 Cove Road (Opposite) Waipu Cove
10:20 - Introductions and walk along beach to toilets.
12:00 - Arrive Langs Cove - Lunch - Swim (Optional)
13:00 - Leave Langs Cove
14:30 - Arrive back at Waipu Cove
15:00 - 16:00 Refreshments at Mangawhai Tavern (Optional)
17:30 - Arrive CBD

● Hike Description & Directions:
We start with a short beach walk to the toilets, then continue along the coastal track to Langs Beach - Feet may get wet crossing the small stream to start the coastal walk.
The return will be the same.
There maybe a great ice cream truck at Langs Beach - worth checking out.
